Seminar May 20th: How demography and immigration are changing the country
Professor Paul Spoonley, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Massey University
In the second decade of the 21st century, significant demographic changes are afoot: a rapidly ageing population, below replacement fertility, the growth of Auckland (often at the expense of regions) and the growing importance of immigration. A very different New Zealand has emerged - and the country will change again in the next decade or so. This talk will highlight some of these changes and the challenges and opportunities they represent.
